Who We Are
Faith in Science (FiS) is a multicultural, multiracial, and interfaith coalition of clergy convened by the Ministers Alliance of Rhode Island. We are bringing our coalition strength and messaging expertise to develop a network of community vaccination sites, along with a multi-cultural outreach campaign and community assistance for registrations. Faith in Science’s fiscal agent is United Way of Rhode Island.
About Us
By reaching Rhode Island's BIPOC communities with our messaging and vaccination campaign, we are contributing to a new understanding of the science of the vaccines – that they are safe and necessary to help Rhode Island reach herd immunity and allow our economy to recover.

Vision
Our vision is that the tenets of faith and the power of science are both stronger when they come together, ensuring that all Rhode Island BIPOC communities have access to everything they need to fight COVID - information, testing, vaccines, healthcare support, and access to the social determinants of health. By breaking down these barriers and eliminating disparities we can extend these achievements to the rest of our communities’ needs - in housing, education, and healthcare.

Values
Establishing Community Vaccination Sites

Rather than relying on additional large, centralized mass vaccination sites, Faith in Science coordinates community vaccination sites throughout the state. Vaccination and vaccinators are provided through Lotus Noir and the Rhode Island Department of Health.

Community Outreach and Education
In order to ensure that BIPOC residents are signing up for vaccinations, Faith in Science will create a broad outreach effort, engaging every organization or hub that can reach the BIPOC community.
Vaccine Registration Assistance

Faith in Science provides assistance to help people register for their shots and help them with transportation information if necessary, or alert them to walk-in vaccination sites that exist in addition to Faith in Science community sites.
